Welcome to Mackenzie's Musings! Here you will find posts on books, my writing journey, creativity, short stories, and more! All my newest posts will be at the top of this page, while the one I'm wanting to feature for the month will be on my home page. Right now, my full time gig makes it to where I may only have a new post every other week, but I am aiming to get it up to at least every week before the end of the year. Before you dive in, let me give you just a few notes on what you will and won't see in or on my posts.

• Book reviews will never included star ratings. While I know these are incredibly helpful, I am what I consider a "five-star queen." I rarely dislike what I read, and the way I handle star ratings in my own personal book tracker varies from book to book. I will also never do a "yes, no, maybe" post on books. I so appreciate the creators who do those, as there are too many books to pick from in this world, but I will refer you back to the second sentence of this note.

• All book-related posts will have links to either my local independent bookstore or Bookshop.org. I know that a lot of independently published authors utilize Amazon, and I will do my best to be sure if they're included when mentioning them. However, I want to make sure to keep the tiny booksellers helping get books in our hands in business. I'll also encourage you to check them out of your local library if you're not like me and don't need a personal copy .

• Short stories will not have an option to comment. This is not because I fear critique; this is because these stories are meant to be fun for me and, hopefully, funny or touching for you. I want them to be a safe space away from the usual internet conversation.
