One thing I love about storytelling is that it creates connections. Whether it’s a novel that keeps me up hours too late, an essay or social thread that makes me rethink my own views, or a new podcast, TV show, or movie that makes me so excited I can’t wait to jump into the meme pool, great stories are what help me find connection.

My career has been as winding and twisted as Odysseus’s trek home. I’ve climbed the Misty Mountains of Journalism as a copy editor who got to read every piece printed in the newspaper. I’ve crawled through the Deep Dark Cave of Corporate Communications where I had to take my journalistic ethics and marry them to the cold droplets of business marketing, and I am currently struggling through the Tangled Plot of an integrated marketing gig. I couldn’t define it if you paid me, but I enjoy the part where I get to collaborate with other creative folks.

My name is Mackenzie, and this website holds my “musings,” all the thoughts and ideas and short fiction built up in my brain yearning to be free.
